Summary of Events

The regime’s intense shelling and bombardment continued to target revolting areas in a desperate bid to end the revolution. The Syrian army increased its shelling of the cities of Homs and Deir Azzour, and the suburbs of Damascus, often levelling entire neighbourhoods.

Regime forces killed at least 92 people today; 33 fell in the suburbs of Damascus as the shelling intensified including 21 in the suburb of al-Hameh, 14 in the province of Homs as the army continued to shell the cities of Homs and Rastan, 11 in the province of Daraa as the shelling was renewed against the towns of Kafar Shams and Othman, ten in the city of Deir Azzour as the military campaign continued, and nine in the province of Idlib as the army shelled the towns of Saraqeb and Maar Bleet.

The regime’ violations continued across the country as its forces opened heavy fire in the town of Kherbet Ghazaleh in the province of Daraa and the city of Boukamal in the province of Deir Azzour. It also raided the city of Raqa and shelled the cities of Atareb and Injara and the villages of Awaijel and Hooteh in the province of Aleppo.

In the capital, regime forces opened heavy fire in the neighbourhood of Jobar and raided the neighbourhood of Barzeh while heavy explosions rocked the central neighbourhoods. Regime forces also shelled the suburbs of Hamouriya, Qodseya, al-Hameh and Douma, and raided the suburb of Daraya under the cover of heavy fire.
