In conjunction with the presence of the Arab Observers in Syria, who have been mandated under the Protocol Agreement between the Government of Syria and the Arab League to monitor the situation in the towns and cities in Syria, Syrian security forces and its army continue their systematic killings, intimidation and arrests policy across the country.
Thousands of activists and protesters are detained from march till today. Moreover, hundreds of politicians and intellectuals have been punished under the martial law and put in unknown cellars of the security forces for long years
In light of the continued detention of the activists by the forces of the regime, the Kurdish youth movement learned that a number of Kurdish detainees, who were sentenced to 4-25 years, began a hunger strike in the prison of the old Central Hasaka prison. The aim of their action is to meet the members of the Arab observers in the hope to be released. They believe that they have been imprisoned illegally and they only have expressed their rights of thinking and expression .
The names of
some of these detainees are:
1 - Housing Munther Ahmed.
2 - funded benefit.
3 - Nasser Al-Mohammad.
4 - Raed Ali.
We in the movement of young Kurds appeal to all human rights organizations and international humanitarian and the Human Rights Council of the United Nations to accelerate taking the right dicisions which could help putting an end to the arbitrary and illegal detention, killings and intimidation policy by the security forces which are considered a flgrant violation of human rights principles.

At the same
time we urge the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States to recommend
the observers in Syria to visit the central prison of Hasaka to meet the
detainees being in hunger strike and listen to their demands.
