Summary of Events

An armed car exploded in the parking lot of the Justice Palace resulting in the destruction of the entire lot. Syrian state TV announced that two IEDs planted by terrorists caused the attacks, while no evidence has surfaced to determine the identity of the culprits yet.

The shelling renewed in the town of Kafar Shams in the province of Daraa for the third consecutive day amid worsening humanitarian and medical conditions. Meanwhile, the shelling in the city of Deir Azzour continued for the seventh day in a row amid a suffocating siege.

Regime forces killed at least 120 today; 42 fell in the suburbs of Damascus as the shelling renewed in the suburbs of Misraba, Saqba, Harasta, Douma, Daraya, Mlaiha, Moadamiya, Hamouriya, and Erbin, 26 in the province of Homs as the Syrian army shelled the cities of Qalat Huson, Homs, Talbiseh, Rastan, and Houleh, and the village of Nizariya, 17 in the province of Daraa as the shelling was renewed in the towns of Othman, Jiza and Herak, as well as the refugee camp in the city of Daraa, and 15 in Deir Azzouras a result of continued shelling.

The regime’s violations throughout the country continued, as its forces shelled the village of Sahl Ghab and Jabal Shahshabo in the province of Hama, the city of Mayadin in the province of Deir Azzour, the cities and towns of Atareb, Ezaz, Mayer, Hayan, Bayanoun and Indan in the province of Aleppo, the cities and towns of Saraqeb, Maaret Noman, Nijyeh, Bdama, Kamla, and Kinda and the villages of Rasha, Mneer, Tal Karsyan and Shleen in the province of Idlib, and the villages of Jabal Akrad in the province of Latakia. Meanwhile, explosions were heard in the Damascus neighbourhoods of Barzeh and Rukn Eddin.

More than one thousand goldsmith shops shut down their operations in the province of Aleppo after the government issued a new law that regulates the import and export of gold. The law complicated the flow of imports leading to an sharp increase in illegal exports thus decreasing the circulation of precious metal to less than 10%.
