UN observers visited the town of Dael in the province of Daraa, while another group visited the Central Prison of Homs where they were misled by security personnel into secondary wards to ignore the demonstrations in the political prisoners’ section. Political prisoners have been on a hunger strike and the regime reacted by attacking them.

Regime forces also opened heavy random fire in the town of Tafas and conducted arbitrary arrests and sweeps in the town of Lajat in the province of Daraa.
Assad’s forces killed at least 28 today; seven in the province of Homs due to the shelling of the cities of Homs, Qasir and Rastan, and six in the capital due to the regime’s heavy firing in the suburbs of Kafarbatna, Saqba and Yelda, and five in Deir Azzour as regime forces opened fire at demonstrations and field-executed three arrested demonstrators.
Peaceful revolutionary activities continued in the city of Aleppo, as the lawyers of the city held a sit-in at the Central Courthouse to demand the release of detainees, while demonstrations and sit-ins continued in several colleges at Aleppo University.
